The players by the three-meter line defend and set. The players at the net attack.

The defence player without a spare player behind him starts by throwing the ball in the middle of the rectangle formed by the players. The other defender moves beneath the ball and sets the hitter across from him. The hitter hits the ball straight ahead to the spare defence player. The defence player digs the ball into the middle of the rectangle, after which the other defence player moves beneath the ball and the sets the other hitter. The exercise continues in the same way.

The defence player who set the ball takes the place of the hitter. The hitter takes the place of the defence player who will set the next ball.
