A sets the ball to B, B spikes the ball to C, and C digs the ball to A. Now, A sets the ball to C, C spikes the ball to B, and B digs the ball to A. A sets to B again, and the drill continues in the same way. In short, A is the designated setter.
Variations:
- A is the designated spiker. B and C dig and set.
- A is the designated digger. B and C set and spike.
