Two teams play against each other, where each team serves only once in a row. In the diagram, the team on the bottom serves first. The player that served moves into the court to defend. When the rally is over, the spare player on the opposite side serves.
When the opponent serves, the setters are only allowed to play first tempo on position 3 or to the back row on positions 1 and 6.
During the rally, the setters are only allowed to set to position 1 and 4.
